MY.GAMES, a leading mobile, PC, and console games developer based in Amsterdam, has announced a partnership with AD Gaming, a prominent gaming entity in the UAE. As part of this collaboration, MY.GAMES will establish its regional headquarters in Abu Dhabi, the capital city of the United Arab Emirates.
The establishment of the regional headquarters will facilitate the hiring and development of local game developers, generating numerous job opportunities over the next five years. MY.GAMES’ Abu Dhabi team will be engaged in the development of over 70 games from AD Gaming’s extensive portfolio, which includes popular titles such as War Robots, Rush Royale, and Hustle Castle.
The decision to select Abu Dhabi as the regional hub highlights the flourishing gaming ecosystem fostered by AD Gaming in the rapidly growing MENA (Middle East and North Africa) gaming market. This move aligns with Abu Dhabi’s broader vision of nurturing an active gaming and e-sports industry. AD Gaming, already home to over 50 gaming companies including major players like Unity Technologies and Ubisoft, continues to attract both global industry giants and local success stories such as Boss Bunny and AA Meta.
In support of this burgeoning gaming sector, AD Gaming recently collaborated with Games for Change to host the inaugural Games For Change Summit in the Middle East. Moreover, neighboring Saudi Arabia is also striving to establish itself as a global gaming hub. The country’s sovereign wealth fund, PIF, has made significant investments in prominent gaming companies like Nexon, Capcom, and Koei Tecmo. Additionally, Saudi’s Savvy Games Group has ambitious plans to attract $37.7 billion in investments, set up 250 game companies, create 39,000 jobs, and raise the sector’s contribution to the GDP to 50 billion Saudi rials ($13.33 billion) by 2030.
Overall, MY.GAMES’ partnership with AD Gaming and the establishment of its regional headquarters in Abu Dhabi reflects the robust growth and potential of the gaming industry in the UAE and the wider MENA region.
