Acura Revives RSX Nameplate with First Honda-Based Electric SUV

Acura has announced the revival of the RSX nameplate, introducing its first electric vehicle (EV) built on Honda’s proprietary EV platform. Inspired by the Acura Performance EV Concept, the new RSX features a sleek, coupe-like silhouette and cutting-edge technology, signaling Acura’s bold step into an electrified future.

The RSX will be powered by Honda’s ASIMO OS operating system, unveiled at CES 2025. It will also be the first EV manufactured at the retooled Honda EV Hub in Ohio, a facility designed to set new benchmarks in sustainable manufacturing. The plant will support the production of internal combustion, hybrid, and battery-electric vehicles on the same line.

Testing for the RSX prototype commenced this week, featuring camouflage wraps designed by Acura’s Design team, reflecting themes of power, calmness, and innovation.

“The RSX nameplate returns with our next-generation EV, capturing Acura’s commitment to a fun-to-drive future,” said Mike Langel, assistant vice president of Acura National Sales.
