Acura NSX Returns With Ultra-Limited Redesign

Acura NSX ultra-limited redesign driving

The iconic Honda NSX, sold as the Acura NSX in markets including North America, has returned in the form of an ultra-limited redesign developed by Italian design firm Italdesign. This new version revives the second-generation NSX, originally produced between 2016 and 2022, with updated exterior styling and a bespoke, low-volume production plan. Rather than a full factory reboot, the project delivers a rare “few-off” iteration for enthusiasts and collectors.

Design and Heritage Update

Built on the second-generation hybrid supercar’s architecture, the tribute model blends classic cues with contemporary bodywork. Italdesign’s redesign emphasizes refreshed panels and aerodynamic elements while preserving the essence of the original NSX silhouette. At the same time, the new exterior aesthetic nods to the car’s history without replicating it exactly. Consequently, the project stands as both a homage and a reimagining rather than a simple restomod.

Limited Production and Future Outlook

Although the design is endorsed by Honda, details about pricing, exact production numbers, and availability remain limited. Early indications suggest that only a handful of right-hand-drive examples will be created, and it is not yet clear whether they will be usable on public roads. Therefore, this NSX tribute is expected to remain an exclusive collector’s item rather than a mass-market offering, extending the legacy of a rare and revered sports car.
