Abu Dhabi Police Partner With Space 42 to Advance AI-Driven Smart Transport

Abu Dhabi Police has entered into a memorandum of understanding with Space 42 to cooperate on developing smart solutions that support the security monitoring systems of self-driving vehicles in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.
This collaboration has reflected the government’s direction to enhance smart transport systems through advanced technologies and innovation.
Moreover, the agreement has been signed by Colonel Muhammad Dahi Al-Hameiri, Director of the Central Operations Sector at Abu Dhabi Police, and Hassan Ahmad Al-Husny, CEO of Smart Solutions at Space 42.

Focus on Artificial Intelligence and Safety

The partnership has focused on applying artificial intelligence and smart technologies to strengthen traffic safety and improve the operational efficiency of autonomous and smart mobility systems.
In addition, under the memorandum, Abu Dhabi Police and Space 42 have committed to joint efforts in research and development, innovation, and the deployment of intelligent security solutions.
As a result, these efforts have aimed to enhance monitoring capabilities for self-driving vehicles while supporting the broader objective of reducing traffic accidents and improving road safety across the emirate.

Colonel Muhammad Dahi Al-Hameiri has stated that the agreement has formed part of ongoing cooperation and coordination efforts between national institutions.
Furthermore, Al-Hameiri noted that this collaboration has contributed to developing services provided to different segments of society, ensuring integration of efforts and exchange of expertise to achieve high standards of service quality through advanced security technologies.

Future Expansion and Skills Development

As part of the initiative, Abu Dhabi Police has worked with Space 42 to deploy artificial intelligence and self-control systems in police vehicles.
At the same time, the collaboration has also focused on enabling national cadres to acquire skills and knowledge in smart vehicles and autonomous systems through joint field initiatives and training programs.
Looking ahead, the agreement has further laid the groundwork for expanding the scope of the project in future phases.
Consequently, planned expansion has included the introduction of diverse applications across the transport system in Abu Dhabi, aligned with the leadership’s vision of developing smart and safe cities supported by advanced technology.

Hassan Ahmad Al-Husny has explained that the collaboration with Abu Dhabi Police represents a strategic step in employing artificial intelligence to serve the community.
