Dubai AI Campus to Develop 100,000-Sq-Ft AI Facility in DIFC

Dubai AI Campus DIFC expansion project

Dubai AI Campus plans to develop a new 100,000-square-foot facility within the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC). The project will strengthen Dubai’s artificial intelligence infrastructure and support the commercialisation of emerging technologies.

The purpose-built facility will feature GPU-ready systems, secure AI development zones and advanced digital twin environments. Moreover, it will bring together technology developers, businesses, investors and government entities within DIFC’s Zabeel District expansion.

Advanced Infrastructure to Support AI Innovation

The new building will feature modular, laboratory-ready floors designed for specialised AI research and development. Consequently, public and private sector organisations will gain dedicated spaces to develop, test and validate AI solutions before wider deployment.

Additionally, the facility will house an AI Experience Centre showcasing practical applications across multiple industries. Conference facilities will also accommodate industry summits, technology discussions and policy engagements.

Meanwhile, AI-powered building systems and digital twin environments will support advanced testing and operational efficiency. These technologies will allow organisations to simulate processes, evaluate performance and refine solutions in virtual settings.

Dubai Crown Prince Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum reviewed the development plans during the third Dubai AI Festival. The event took place at Dubai World Trade Centre.

Dubai AI Campus Sets Ambitious 2030 Targets

Since its launch in May 2024, Dubai AI Campus has attracted more than 500 artificial intelligence companies. Together, these businesses have secured over AED 1 billion ($272 million) in private equity and venture capital investment.

Furthermore, the campus has contributed to creating more than 2,000 specialised technology jobs, strengthening Dubai’s growing AI ecosystem.

Building on this progress, Sheikh Hamdan approved an ambitious expansion target for 2030. The campus now aims to attract more than 1,000 AI companies and generate over 5,000 highly skilled jobs.

Notably, the initiative achieved its original five-year targets for company numbers and investment volumes two years ahead of schedule. As a result, the revised goals reflect Dubai’s commitment to accelerating AI adoption, investment and innovation.

“Dubai AI Campus has already achieved its 2028 target of attracting 500 AI companies two years ahead of schedule, and we are now raising our ambition to more than 1,000 companies and over 5,000 jobs by 2030,” DIFC Authority Chief Executive Arif Amiri said.

The planned expansion will further strengthen Dubai’s position as a regional centre for AI development and commercial applications. Additionally, its specialised infrastructure will help organisations move from experimentation to practical deployment across different sectors.
