Emarat and G42 Explore AI-Driven Digital Transformation

Emarat and G42 Sign AI Partnership Agreement

Emirates Petroleum Company PJSC (Emarat) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Abu Dhabi-based technology group G42 to explore artificial intelligence, cybersecurity and advanced digital technologies across the energy sector. Announced on October 26, 2026, the agreement supports Emarat’s plans to modernise operations and strengthen its digital capabilities.

The partnership will explore ways to apply AI and secure digital infrastructure across Emarat’s business. In addition, the companies will examine next-generation service station concepts and technologies that could improve customer experiences. The MoU establishes a framework to explore potential projects, rather than confirm specific deployments.

AI Applications Across Energy and Mobility

The collaboration will examine potential AI applications for the energy industry, including tools that could support smarter decisions and more efficient operations. The companies also intend to explore advanced digital solutions across the energy value chain.

Cybersecurity and digital sovereignty also form key areas of the agreement. As energy companies adopt more connected systems, protecting operational data and maintaining secure infrastructure become increasingly important. Therefore, the partnership will assess how G42’s technology capabilities could support Emarat’s digital security requirements.

The companies will also explore next-generation service station concepts. These could involve digital services and technology-enabled customer experiences, although the announcement does not specify which features Emarat may introduce.

Combining Energy Expertise With AI Capabilities

Ahmad Abdulla Ahli, Emarat’s Chief People and Corporate Support Officer, signed the agreement on behalf of the energy company. Ali Al Amine, G42 International’s Chief Commercial Officer, represented G42.

Ahli said the partnership reflects Emarat’s approach to technology adoption, emphasising long-term business value, operational readiness, and changing expectations across energy and mobility. He added that the collaboration could help strengthen decision-making and business resilience.

Meanwhile, Al Amine said the partnership brings together G42’s AI, cloud and digital capabilities with Emarat’s industry knowledge and operational reach. Together, the companies aim to identify practical opportunities for technology-driven transformation.

Supporting the UAE’s Digital Transformation

The agreement reflects growing interest in applying AI across the UAE’s established industries. Energy companies are increasingly exploring digital tools to improve operational efficiency, strengthen security and develop new services.

However, the MoU does not confirm a deployment schedule, investment amount or specific technology rollout. Instead, it provides a basis for the two companies to identify potential areas of cooperation.

Ultimately, the partnership could help Emarat assess how AI and advanced digital technologies fit into its future operations. Its impact will depend on the projects the companies develop and the results those projects deliver.
