Ajman Government Advances Strategic AI Adoption

Ajman Government AI workshop presentation

Ajman Government has held a strategic workshop to examine the development and governance of artificial intelligence across public-sector operations. The session was part of the Strategic Knowledge Programme for Senior Leaders in the Ajman Government and focused on emerging AI trends, government applications, and institutional readiness.

Workshop Examines Emerging AI Trends

The workshop was delivered by Roland Abi Najm, an expert in artificial intelligence, cybersecurity and digital transformation. In particular, the session examined the global shift toward Agentic AI and its potential applications across government.

Participants also reviewed international government experiences with the use of artificial intelligence. Furthermore, the workshop introduced methods for assessing and prioritising AI initiatives based on strategic value, feasibility and expected impact.

The discussions come as Ajman continues to develop a coordinated framework for AI adoption. Earlier this year, the emirate launched the Ajman Artificial Intelligence Programme to support smart government transformation and align AI adoption with Ajman Vision 2030.

Focus on AI Governance and Cybersecurity

The workshop also addressed AI governance from a leadership perspective. Moreover, participants examined cybersecurity and compliance risks linked to AI deployment.

Data quality emerged as another key consideration. The session highlighted the need to strengthen institutional capabilities and improve integration between government entities. These measures can support more consistent and controlled use of AI across public services.

Ajman has also begun formalising its AI governance approach. On September 28, the Ajman Government approved the first edition of its Artificial Intelligence Conceptual Reference. The document establishes common AI terminology and provides a framework covering AI categories, maturity, adoption, risk assessment and autonomy.

Practical AI Applications for Government

The workshop concluded with a practical group exercise. Participants analysed real government challenges using AI tools and developed potential solutions.

At the same time, the exercise stressed critical thinking and the need to verify AI-generated outputs before adoption. This reflects Ajman Government’s broader focus on responsible and trusted AI use.

The emirate’s AI programme is intended to support the structured adoption of AI across government. Earlier, Ajman announced plans for 100 AI initiatives spanning the eight pillars of Ajman Vision 2030. The programme also aims to improve government services, operational efficiency and quality of life.

The latest workshop therefore adds a leadership and governance dimension to Ajman’s wider AI programme. It also highlights the growing focus on combining AI adoption with cybersecurity, data quality, institutional capacity and accountability.
