Abu Dhabi Chamber and Siemens Advance Industrial Digitalization
The Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ADCCI) has signed a cooperation agreement with Siemens to advance industrial digital transformation, innovation and sustainability. The partnership aims to strengthen private sector competitiveness and improve digital readiness across Abu Dhabi.
According to the Emirates News Agency (WAM), the agreement was signed on September 28, 2026, during the UAE Investment Forum in Munich. Ali Mohamed Al Marzooqi, Director-General of Abu Dhabi Chamber, and Helmut von Struve, CEO of Siemens Middle East, signed the agreement.
The partnership establishes a framework for cooperation in advanced technologies, industrial innovation and capacity building. Furthermore, it aims to help businesses adopt digital solutions and improve operational performance.
Advancing Industrial Digital Transformation
Under the agreement, Abu Dhabi Chamber and Siemens will explore practical ways to translate technical expertise into business applications. These efforts will help companies digitise operations, improve productivity and strengthen operational resilience.
The partnership will also support initiatives involving automation, smart manufacturing and Fourth Industrial Revolution technologies. In addition, both parties will promote awareness of digital solutions that improve efficiency and competitiveness across industrial operations.
The agreement also focuses on developing Abu Dhabi’s technology and manufacturing sectors. Consequently, the collaboration will explore initiatives that support industrial modernisation and strengthen the emirate’s position in global value chains.
Digital Product Passports and Sustainability
A key area of cooperation involves the Digital Product Passport (DPP), alongside digital traceability and transparency solutions.
Through awareness programmes, knowledge exchange and capacity building, the partners aim to help businesses understand emerging requirements. These include product traceability, sustainability, transparency and access to international markets.
Moreover, the agreement provides for the exploration of potential pilot projects involving digital product passports. This work will help Abu Dhabi companies prepare for changing regulatory requirements and expectations across global supply chains.
Al Marzooqi said cooperation on Digital Product Passports could deepen companies’ understanding of transparency, traceability and sustainability requirements. He also highlighted the importance of combining technology, knowledge, skills and sustainability to generate long-term economic value.
Research, Innovation and Industry Engagement
The agreement extends to research, development and innovation, as well as technical knowledge exchange. Additionally, both parties will explore initiatives related to energy efficiency, resource management and decarbonization.
The partnership will also encourage engagement between Siemens, Chamber members and industrial stakeholders. Planned areas of cooperation include conferences, workshops, roundtables, exhibitions and business forums.
Through these activities, Abu Dhabi Chamber and Siemens aim to connect businesses with advanced industrial technologies and international expertise.
