Khazna and Siemens Partner on AI Data Centers
Khazna Data Centres and Siemens have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to explore technologies for next-generation AI data centres. The companies signed the agreement on September 15 at the UAE-Germany Business Forum in Munich.
The partnership focuses on AI-ready infrastructure, technology testing, advanced power architectures, digital twins, and developing engineering talent. Together, the companies will assess how emerging technologies can address the rising demands of AI computing.
Digital Twins and AI-Ready Infrastructure
As AI workloads become more demanding, data centres require greater computing density and more complex infrastructure. Therefore, Khazna and Siemens will examine technologies that can improve how future facilities are designed and operated.
A key area of cooperation will be digital twin technology. Siemens will bring expertise in simulation, design validation, system integration, commissioning, and operational optimisation.
Digital twins can help operators model complex data centre environments before deploying changes in physical facilities. They can also support testing and optimisation throughout a facility’s operating life.
Furthermore, the companies will explore emerging infrastructure trends and assess their implications for future data centre design, construction, commissioning, and operations.
800 VDC Power and Emirati Talent
Power infrastructure will form another major part of the collaboration. Khazna and Siemens will continue examining next-generation 800 VDC power architectures and their potential use in AI data centres.
This focus reflects the changing electrical requirements of AI infrastructure. Higher compute densities can place greater demands on power delivery and supporting systems.
Meanwhile, the agreement includes an Emirati engineering talent initiative. Siemens will sponsor internships in Germany for nominated Emirati engineers.
The program will give participants exposure to advanced technologies, engineering practices, and data centre applications. Consequently, the initiative is intended to build specialised engineering capabilities.
Expanding Cooperation Across Markets
The two companies will also assess Siemens technologies for possible use across Khazna’s growing international data centre portfolio.
Similarly, Siemens Middle East and UAE CEO Helmut von Struve said AI is changing data centre infrastructure requirements. He pointed to higher compute densities, rising power demand, and greater system complexity as factors requiring new approaches to facility design, power, and operations.
The agreement therefore creates a framework for Khazna and Siemens to test and validate emerging technologies in real-world data centre environments. It also links infrastructure development with engineering skills as the companies examine requirements for future AI facilities.
