LG and Nvidia are expanding their robotics partnership as both companies target the growing market for physical artificial intelligence. The collaboration covers humanoid robots, logistics machines, smart factories and AI infrastructure.
The companies announced broader cooperation in June 2026 following a meeting between LG Group Chairman Koo Kwang-mo and Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang in Seoul. Consequently, the partnership now extends beyond individual robotics projects into a wider physical AI ecosystem.
Humanoid Robots and Physical AI
Under the expanded partnership, LG Electronics and Nvidia will jointly develop reference robots based on Nvidia’s Isaac GR00T ecosystem. In addition, LG plans to apply Nvidia’s robotics technologies across humanoid and logistics robot development
The companies will work across the development process, including data generation, simulation, training and robot behavior. Meanwhile, Nvidia’s Isaac, GR00T and Cosmos platforms will support LG’s physical AI development.
LG is also developing home robots, including its CLOiD platform. Therefore, the company can use virtual environments to simulate and validate robot behavior before deploying machines in physical settings. Nvidia’s Isaac Sim and Isaac Lab frameworks will support that process.
Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang said, “We are working with them in motor technology, as well as mechanical systems, so that we can bring together humanoid robotics and the future of robotics.”
AI Factories and Smart Manufacturing
Beyond robots, LG and Nvidia are building an AI factory designed to support physical AI, autonomous driving, data centers and GPU cloud services. The infrastructure will help LG train, simulate, validate and deploy AI applications across its businesses.
Moreover, the companies plan to connect AI model development with physical AI data generation and digital twins. This approach can link robot simulation and training with edge deployment and factory-scale operations.
LG will also combine manufacturing data from its global production sites with Nvidia’s computing and digital twin technologies. As a result, the companies aim to build more autonomous manufacturing systems covering production, logistics and delivery.
The partnership also includes AI data center infrastructure. Nvidia and LG are working on cooling systems, power delivery and facility architecture. In addition, LG is collaborating with Nvidia on liquid-cooling technologies, including cooling distribution units, cold plates and modular designs.
LG Strengthens Its Robotics Strategy
The expanded Nvidia partnership comes as LG increases its focus on robotics as a major future business. In July 2026, LG Electronics established a Robotics Business Center reporting directly to CEO Lyu Jae-cheol.
The new organization covers business development, sales and operations. It also includes a dedicated data factory unit focused on producing training data for robots.
Furthermore, LG is building a large-scale robotics data factory at its Yangjae R&D Campus in Seoul. Operations are scheduled to begin later in 2026. The data will support LG’s Robot Foundation Model and future robotics products.
LG is therefore positioning robotics across residential, commercial and industrial markets. Meanwhile, Nvidia is expanding its physical AI ecosystem through computing platforms, simulation tools, foundation models and safety technologies.
Together, the companies are seeking to connect robotics hardware, AI models, manufacturing data and computing infrastructure. The broader strategy could give LG a stronger position in commercializing physical AI while extending Nvidia’s robotics technology into real-world industrial environments.
