HONOR Becomes Middle East’s No. 2 Brand

HONOR smartphone retail store Middle East

HONOR has become the second-largest smartphone brand in the Middle East for the first time, according to the latest Omdia Middle East report for the first quarter of 2026. The milestone follows a strong year of expansion, with the company recording 73% year-on-year regional growth despite a challenging smartphone market. Consequently, HONOR continues to strengthen its position across key Gulf markets through premium devices, broader retail reach, and localized product strategies.

The company also reported 25% global growth during the same period, reflecting strong momentum across international markets. Moreover, HONOR has expanded beyond smartphones by building an AI-powered device ecosystem that includes tablets, laptops, wearables, and foldable devices. This broader portfolio supports its long-term strategy of delivering connected experiences across multiple product categories.

Premium Portfolio Fuels Regional Growth

HONOR’s strongest performance came from the mid-to-high-end smartphone segment. Therefore, the company achieved 130% year-on-year growth in the $300 to $500 price category while capturing a 24% market share. That performance placed HONOR close behind Samsung in one of the region’s most competitive smartphone segments.

Recent product launches have played a significant role in the company’s expansion. The HONOR 600 Series continues to attract consumers with AI-powered photography and flagship-level performance, while the HONOR X9d has gained popularity by combining durability, long battery life, and competitive pricing. In addition, HONOR’s Magic Series, including its foldable smartphones, has strengthened the brand’s premium presence across the Gulf region.

HONOR has also invested heavily in expanding retail partnerships, operator relationships, and distribution channels throughout the Middle East. As a result, the company has improved product availability while increasing brand visibility across both premium and mainstream customer segments.

AI Ecosystem Expands Beyond Smartphones

Beyond smartphones, HONOR continues building an AI device ecosystem that connects phones, tablets, laptops, and wearable devices. Consequently, users can benefit from seamless file sharing, synchronized productivity features, and cross-device collaboration.

The company has also enhanced compatibility with Apple’s ecosystem by supporting smoother interactions between HONOR devices and iPhones, Macs, AirPods, and Apple Watch. Furthermore, this cross-platform approach gives users greater flexibility without requiring them to remain within a single hardware ecosystem.

HONOR is preparing to launch the Magic V6 foldable smartphone in the Middle East. The device combines an ultra-thin design with a large silicon-carbon battery, flagship Snapdragon performance, AI-powered imaging, and improved durability. The upcoming launch is expected to strengthen HONOR’s position in the premium smartphone market while expanding its AI ecosystem strategy.

HONOR Strengthens Regional Market Position

HONOR’s rise comes as the Middle East smartphone market faces slowing demand due to inflation, higher component costs, and geopolitical uncertainty. Therefore, the company’s growth demonstrates its ability to outperform broader market trends through targeted product positioning and localized execution.

As demand shifts toward AI-enabled smartphones and connected ecosystems, HONOR is well positioned to expand its regional presence further. With continued investment in premium devices, ecosystem integration, and AI innovation, the company aims to strengthen its leadership across the Middle East smartphone market.
