ByteDance Launches Seedance 2.5 AI Video Model
ByteDance has introduced Seedance 2.5, the latest version of its AI video generation model, at the Volcano Engine FORCE 2026 conference. The new model creates native 30-second videos in a single generation pass while expanding creative controls for developers and content creators. Consequently, Seedance 2.5 aims to improve production quality, consistency, and workflow efficiency for AI-generated videos.
The release builds on Seedance 2.0 with several major upgrades. Moreover, ByteDance has focused on longer video generation, improved prompt accuracy, and more advanced editing capabilities to support professional content creation.
New Features Improve AI Video Creation
Seedance 2.5 generates videos up to 30 seconds long without stitching together multiple clips. Therefore, characters, scenes, and camera movements remain more consistent throughout the entire sequence.
The model also accepts up to 50 multimodal reference inputs, including images, videos, audio, style references, and 3D assets. In addition, creators can use local re-draw editing to modify selected portions of a scene instead of regenerating an entire video. ByteDance has also introduced a 3D whitebox preview tool that allows users to plan camera angles and scene layouts before producing the final output.
According to ByteDance, Seedance 2.5 delivers approximately 20% better prompt adherence than its predecessor. As a result, generated videos more closely match user instructions while maintaining stronger visual consistency. However, this performance figure comes from the company and has not yet been independently verified.
Open Ecosystem Targets Enterprise Creators
ByteDance is initially making Seedance 2.5 available through an enterprise beta program. Meanwhile, broader availability is expected through the company’s creative platforms and developer ecosystem after the beta phase concludes.
The company also plans to support deployment across its AI ecosystem, enabling businesses to integrate advanced video generation into marketing, entertainment, education, and digital production workflows. Furthermore, developers will be able to build custom applications using the model as public access expands.
