Samsung Teases Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ahead of Expected Summer Launch

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 teaser

Samsung has started teasing the Galaxy Z Fold 8 ahead of its expected summer launch. The company recently cleared its Instagram feed and began posting teaser videos with phrases such as “bold stroke, new shape.” As a result, the campaign hints at a redesigned foldable with a wider form factor.

The teaser videos begin with a rectangular outline before trimming it into a shorter, wider shape. This approach aligns with recent leaks that suggest the Galaxy Z Fold 8 will feature a more square design when unfolded.

Wider design aligns with foldable phone trend

Several leaks over recent months have pointed to a broader, tablet-like design for the Galaxy Z Fold 8. Moreover, a leaked dummy unit also showcased a wider form factor, matching Samsung’s latest teaser campaign.

A wider foldable design follows an industry trend. Earlier this year, Huawei introduced the Pura X Max with a book-style design and a broader display. Meanwhile, Apple’s rumoured foldable iPhone, which may launch as the iPhone Ultra, is also expected to adopt a similar form factor later this year.

However, reports suggest Samsung may continue offering the traditional narrower design. The existing form factor could return as the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra. Additionally, both models are expected to feature a less noticeable display crease, improving the overall viewing experience.

Launch expected later this month

Samsung has not officially confirmed the date for its next Galaxy Unpacked event. However, industry reports indicate the event could take place in late July.

In fact, recent reports suggest Samsung may have accidentally revealed July 22 as the launch date. If accurate, the company could unveil the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and other new foldable devices during the event.
