Meta Launches AI Mode to Transform Facebook Search

Facebook AI Mode search interface

Meta Platforms has launched a new set of AI-powered features for Facebook, led by AI Mode, a tool that lets users search the platform using natural language. As a result, users can receive summarized answers drawn from publicly shared posts, Groups, and Reels.

AI Mode relies on Meta AI to analyze public content across the platform and present synthesized responses. Consequently, Facebook’s vast collection of user-generated content becomes easier to search and explore. The feature expands on capabilities introduced with Muse Spark in April, which enabled AI-powered conversations to surface relevant information from communities and public discussions.

At the time, Meta said users could “ask what people are buzzing about and get the full picture, pulled from content and community posts”.

The new search experience has also attracted investor attention. According to analyst Brian Nowak, the feature could generate more than $10 billion in annual revenue if it captures a meaningful share of daily searches. Furthermore, he maintained Meta as a “top pick” and assigned a $775 price target.

New AI Creative Features Arrive With World Cup Integration

Alongside AI Mode, Meta introduced several AI-powered creative tools for Facebook users. These additions include AI photo presets, editing features, and enhanced content creation options.

Previously, the company rolled out collage tools that scan camera rolls and recommend edits. It also added restyling capabilities and themed content creation features. Now, the latest updates arrive with World Cup 2026 integrations designed to increase fan engagement.

For example, the “wear it” AI Edit feature allows users to virtually try on national team jerseys and share selfies. In addition, users can activate a special football mode by double-tapping the Facebook logo. Once enabled, the app adopts a World Cup-themed experience.

AI Expansion Continues Across Meta Platforms

The latest announcements support Meta’s broader strategy of embedding AI throughout its ecosystem. Since launching Muse Spark, the company has steadily introduced new AI-driven experiences across its apps.

For instance, Meta has added shopping mode, voice conversations, and multimodal perception features. Meanwhile, it has launched a creator assistant on Facebook and expanded AI capabilities within its Edits video app.

The company also expects strong financial performance as AI adoption grows. Meta forecasts first-quarter 2026 revenue between $53.5 billion and $56.5 billion. Moreover, AI-powered advertising and engagement tools continue to play a significant role in driving that growth.
