Vivo Y600 Turbo smartphone launch

Vivo has launched the Y600 Turbo in China, introducing a mid-range smartphone built around endurance with one of the largest batteries ever seen in its category.

Built for Battery Life

The Vivo Y600 Turbo packs a massive 9,020mAh battery, making it a standout option for users who prioritize long-lasting performance. Moreover, the phone supports 90W wired fast charging, helping reduce downtime despite the large battery size.

Powering the device is Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 chipset, paired with up to 12GB of LPDDR4x RAM and up to 512GB of UFS 3.1 storage. Additionally, the smartphone runs OriginOS 6 based on Android 16, offering updated software support.

Display and Durability Features

The Y600 Turbo features a 6.83-inch AMOLED display with 1.5K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate for smoother visuals. Furthermore, it reaches a peak brightness of 5,000 nits, making outdoor visibility significantly stronger.

Vivo has also focused on durability, as the phone carries both IP68 and IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance. While many mid-range phones prioritize slim design, this device instead targets users who value rugged reliability and battery endurance.

For photography, the smartphone includes a 50MP main rear camera alongside a 2MP depth sensor, while an 8MP front camera handles selfies and video calls.

Pricing and Market Position

The Vivo Y600 Turbo starts at 2,299 yuan (around ₹32,000) for the 8GB + 256GB model. Meanwhile, the 12GB + 256GB variant costs 2,599 yuan, while the top 12GB + 512GB version is priced at 2,899 yuan.

Available in Dune Gold, Electric Blue, and Millennium Pink, the phone goes on sale in China from May 27. Although international launch plans remain unclear, the Y600 Turbo clearly reflects the growing competition among Chinese smartphone brands to push battery capacity limits in the mid-range segment.
