OpenAI has released a Chrome extension for its Codex platform, bringing the AI coding agent directly into the browser environment. The update allows Codex to operate within Chrome on both Mac and Windows devices.
The extension enables Codex to test web applications, gather context from multiple tabs, and access Chrome DevTools during development workflows. Additionally, the system works within dedicated task-specific tab groups, allowing users to continue browsing normally without disrupting existing sessions.
