UAE MoF and University of Sharjah Partner on Data Analytics

Officials signing data analytics agreement

Ministry of Finance UAE signed a memorandum of understanding with University of Sharjah to enhance cooperation in open data and financial analytics. Through this agreement, both sides aim to advance institutional collaboration and promote data-driven decision-making.

Moreover, the partnership focuses on developing forward-looking financial policies while strengthening knowledge exchange between government and academia. As a result, it will encourage the sharing of expertise and best practices across both sectors.

The agreement was signed in Dubai by Younis Haji AlKhoori and Prof. Esameldin Agami, with senior officials present.

“The cooperation with the University of Sharjah will contribute to producing specialized studies and in-depth analyses based on open data, providing strategic insights to support decision-makers. It will also help build specialized national capabilities in data analytics and financial auditing. Furthermore, this initiative will promote a culture of institutional innovation and create opportunities for students and researchers to actively contribute to the development of innovative financial solutions that fuel the country’s comprehensive development journey.”

Expanding Research and Innovation Opportunities

Additionally, the initiative will help build an integrated financial data management ecosystem based on transparency and innovation. At the same time, it will support research efforts that generate valuable financial insights.

“Our collaboration with the Ministry of Finance provides students and faculty with opportunities to engage in research projects with tangible impact, while strengthening their professional capabilities and preparing them for the evolving labor market. This would further reinforce the University of Sharjah’s position as a leading academic institution committed to playing a key role in realizing the sustainable development goals.”

Furthermore, the agreement establishes a framework for analyzing open data and producing research studies, foresight reports, and legislative impact assessments. It also introduces benchmarking analyses to improve financial planning and evaluation.

In addition, the collaboration includes hackathons, workshops, and the development of analytical tools such as dashboards. Consequently, these efforts will improve financial transparency and encourage innovation.
