MoHESR Advances Prototype AI Agents To Elevate Higher Education In The UAE

AI agents enhancing higher education

The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research has entered into a collaboration to research and develop prototype AI agents using cloud-based AI capabilities. Through this initiative, the effort aims to enhance higher education in the UAE while aligning with national priorities. Moreover, the collaboration supports innovation-driven research that strengthens educational outcomes. As a result, it contributes to building a future-ready academic ecosystem.

Prototype AI Agents Supporting Learners and Research

The collaboration focuses on four prototype AI agents designed to address priority areas in higher education. First, the Lifelong Learning and Skills Progression agent supports career navigation through in-demand skills and structured learning pathways. Meanwhile, the Faculty Enablement and Course Co-Creation agent helps faculty update curricula and co-design courses and credentials with industry. In addition, the Student Personalised Learning agent provides tailored learning support so students can progress at their own pace. Finally, the Research Mission Alignment agent connects academic research with national missions and real-world challenges, thereby strengthening societal impact.

Building an Interconnected Education Ecosystem

As part of the collaboration, further opportunities will be identified to leverage cloud AI capabilities across higher education. Additionally, a participatory design approach will be pursued with faculty, students, and industry stakeholders. At the same time, potential technical collaboration areas in data analytics, machine learning, and AI will be explored. Consequently, these combined efforts aim to ensure that innovation outcomes remain practical, scalable, and aligned with national development goals.
