Audi Officially Unveils Audi Revolut F1 Team

Audi Revolut F1 Team car unveil

Audi has officially unveiled the Audi Revolut F1 Team in Berlin, marking the brand’s first public step as a factory Formula 1 entrant. The launch event at the Kraftwerk venue brought together partners, media, and industry stakeholders, signaling Audi’s readiness to compete at the pinnacle of motorsport. As a result, the presentation confirmed that years of preparation are now translating into an operational Formula 1 programme.

From unveiling to on-track debut

Audi will make its Formula 1 debut at the Australian Grand Prix on March 8. Ahead of this milestone, the Audi R26 has already completed key development steps. The AFR 26 Hybrid power unit, developed in Neuburg an der Donau, was integrated into the chassis at Hinwil late last year. Subsequently, the team completed its first rollout at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya in early January during a filming day. In the coming weeks, additional shakedown and official test sessions in Barcelona and Bahrain will finalize preparations before the first race.

New regulations shape Audi’s Formula 1 entry

Formula 1 enters a new regulatory era in 2026, and Audi’s debut aligns directly with this transformation. The new rules introduce active aerodynamics, adjustable front and rear wings, and a boost mode that replaces the traditional DRS system. Moreover, electric power output increases significantly, bringing the electric motor close to parity with the 1.6-litre V6 engine. At the same time, sustainable fuels become mandatory, reinforcing Audi’s long-term focus on electrification and efficiency. Consequently, the technical direction of Formula 1 closely aligns with Audi’s broader product and technology strategy.

Brand identity, testing, and long-term strategy

Alongside the car, Audi presented a complete visual identity for the team, including race livery, driver overalls, and a coordinated fan collection. This identity extends consistently from the racetrack to digital platforms and merchandise. Looking ahead, the next major step will be closed-door shakedown tests followed by official pre-season testing. Ultimately, Audi’s Formula 1 programme serves as a strategic flagship, combining cost-controlled competition, global visibility, and technology transfer. Through this entry, Audi reinforces motorsport as a core driver of innovation and brand evolution.
