Lando Norris and Charles Leclerc were involved in a surprising pit lane collision during Free Practice 2 at the Singapore Grand Prix. The incident occurred as both drivers attempted to return to the track after a red flag period, creating an unusual and dramatic moment under the Marina Bay floodlights.

Following a second red flag caused by a crash from Liam Lawson toward the end of his lap, teams hurried to resume running with 15 minutes left on the clock. As Norris exited his garage, his McLaren was released just as Leclerc’s Ferrari pulled out from the neighboring bay. The two cars made contact in the fast lane, sending Norris into the pit wall.

Although Leclerc continued without damage, Norris was forced back to his garage for repairs. His team quickly replaced the front wing before he rejoined the session, showing determination to maximize the remaining track time.

Stewards Investigate and Fine Issued

After reviewing the incident, race stewards determined that Ferrari bore responsibility for the unsafe release. As a result, the team received a €10,000 fine for the procedural error. The decision emphasized the importance of coordination and safety in tight pit environments, especially during busy practice sessions.
