A new digital learning and advisory system called the Ghars Educational Platform has been launched during Global Food Week 2025 at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre. This initiative aims to advance digital training and knowledge-sharing across six key sectors: agriculture, livestock, food, aquaculture, apiculture, and One Health.

The platform integrates e-learning modules, remote advisory services, and interactive content powered by artificial intelligence. It also includes tools such as smart chatbots, irrigation and profitability calculators, and analytical dashboards. Together, these features are designed to improve productivity, sustainability, and decision-making in agricultural operations.

Initially available in Arabic and English, Ghars will soon support Hindi, Urdu, and Malayalam. This multilingual approach ensures accessibility for diverse users while fostering international collaboration and knowledge exchange.

Empowering Growth Through Digital Learning

According to Dr. Sayed Essam Al Hashmi, Acting Executive Director of the Development and Innovation Sector, the initiative embodies the UAE’s vision of using technology to drive progress in key sectors. “The launch of the Ghars Educational Platform reflects the UAE’s vision of leveraging innovation and technology to advance key sectors. It embodies ADAFSA’s commitment to strengthening applied knowledge and building a culture of innovation in agriculture and food systems,” he stated.

Dr. Al Hashmi further explained that the platform’s intelligent design focuses on flexibility and user engagement. It provides specialised advisory tools that help improve sectoral readiness and sustainability while contributing to food security. Moreover, Ghars offers a range of digital resources, including live training, a comprehensive library, remote consultations, and customised smart alerts. These features make agricultural learning more accessible and practical for professionals and newcomers alike.

Advancing Sustainable Practices

Aligned with the Plant the Emirates Program, Ghars encourages home gardening and sustainable farming practices that minimise environmental impact. It also promotes resource-efficient methods, guiding users to optimise inputs and adopt innovative agricultural techniques.

The expanding digital library features educational videos, case studies, and expert guides designed to enhance learning outcomes. Through its remote advisory system, users can connect directly with specialists in resource management, modern technologies, and plant or animal health. This direct interaction strengthens the region’s shift toward a knowledge-driven agricultural ecosystem.

The initiative marks a significant milestone in supporting sustainability and innovation across Abu Dhabi’s food and agriculture sectors. Participants at Global Food Week 2025 are invited to explore the Ghars Educational Platform and experience how it is transforming agricultural learning and practice for a more resilient future.
