Playground Games confirmed Forza Horizon 6 during Xbox’s Tokyo Game Show 2025 broadcast. The game will launch in 2026 on Xbox Series X|S and Windows PC, with day-one access on Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass. Although the official release date is not finalized, players can already add it to their wishlists on both the Microsoft Store and Steam.
Horizon Festival Moves to Japan
The Horizon series has explored France, Italy, Australia, and Mexico, but now the festival will arrive in Japan. Fans had long requested this setting, and developers highlighted that Japan’s car culture, fashion, and music make it the perfect backdrop. The team also enlisted cultural consultant Kyoko Yamashita to ensure authenticity. She noted that the coexistence of shrines, workshops, and neon-lit arcades provided a unique inspiration for the project.
Gameplay and Features
The teaser trailer gave players their first glimpse of Mount Fuji, but the developers emphasized it was only a preview. Forza Horizon 6 will feature both bustling urban areas and tranquil rural landscapes. From the neon glow of Tokyo’s skyscrapers to the calm beauty of mountain roads, players can expect one of the most detailed environments in the franchise’s history. Consequently, the game promises a vibrant mix of cultural richness and open-world exploration.
