HONOR and Alibaba Forge Deep AI Partnership
HONOR and Alibaba have entered a pivotal strategic cooperation agreement built on a shared vision for innovation and growth. The partnership focuses on accelerating AI-driven transformation across intelligent devices, ecosystems, and services. Together, the companies aim to nurture a robust AI ecosystem that captures opportunities created by the convergence of AI technology and smart devices.
Advancing AI Ecosystems and Intelligent Services
The collaboration targets key strategic areas such as AI ecosystems, advanced AI models, and intelligent services. By leveraging their unique technological strengths, HONOR and Alibaba will enhance AI agent ecosystems through deep cooperation across travel navigation, lifestyle, mobile office, tourism, e-commerce, and entertainment.
Moreover, this partnership will drive technical exchange and resource sharing between the two firms. As a result, they will jointly explore innovative features and new interaction paradigms for mobile devices. This approach ensures users gain more seamless, intuitive, and personalized experiences.
Joint Development of AI Models and MaaS Capabilities
A central focus of the partnership is the joint development of AI models using the open-source Qwen large model. The collaboration includes creating vertical application models tailored for on-device AI, AI agents, and multimodal understanding and generation. This combined effort will deliver a cloud-device integrated experience by fusing HONOR’s hardware and operating systems with Qwen’s advanced capabilities.
In addition, the companies will strengthen their collaboration on MaaS (Model-as-a-Service) AI capabilities. They will optimize performance and enhance integration across text, multimodal, image, video, and voice scenarios. Through ongoing work on training, fine-tuning, and inference for on-device and cloud AI models, the goal is to achieve state-of-the-art (SOTA) performance.
HONOR’s upcoming Magic8 Series, designed as a self-evolving AI-native smartphone, will integrate these joint AI innovations to offer more intelligent, secure, and fluid services.
Expanding Vertical Intelligent Agent Ecosystems
Looking ahead, the partnership will broaden its scope by integrating Alibaba’s extensive commercial service ecosystem. Using the MCP (Multi-Cloud Platform) protocol, vertical intelligent agents such as Ele.me (food delivery), Damai (ticketing), and Taopiaopiao (movie ticketing) will be added to HONOR’s platform.
This expansion will bring enhanced AI-powered services to areas like entertainment, office collaboration, and e-commerce. By embedding AI technology more deeply into daily life, the collaboration aims to deliver a wide array of convenient and efficient services to users.
