Huawei and 51Talk have teamed up to host back-to-school events across the UAE, engaging students in Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman, and Fujairah. These programs, which began last month, have already reached more than 900 students. With more activities planned throughout September, the initiative aims to extend its reach to a wider community of learners and parents.
The UAE remains at the forefront of education innovation. The country introduced one of the world’s first mandatory AI curricula, covering students from kindergarten to Grade 12. This effort ensures learners not only acquire technical skills but also gain an ethical understanding of new technologies. Moreover, smart-learning tools are becoming an essential part of both primary and higher education, highlighting the nation’s vision for a future-ready education system.
Tablets as Essential Learning Tools
Tablets continue to prove themselves as highly versatile devices for education. Students rely on them for lessons, assignments, and group projects while also accessing e-learning platforms from a single device. In UAE schools, tablets are widely integrated into interactive learning apps and digital textbook programs. Their portability and performance make them indispensable for a modern classroom environment.
Huawei and 51Talk designed their events to showcase how digital learning tools can be applied effectively. Students explored Huawei tablets equipped with features such as the Resource Centre in HUAWEI Notes, PC-level WPS Office for projects, and the GoPaint app for creativity. These demonstrations revealed how tablets can support both academic needs and entertainment, essentially becoming a multi-purpose tool for students. Furthermore, the events highlighted how tablets foster collaboration and digital literacy that will benefit students well into the future.
Preparing Students for the Future
Recognizing the need for devices tailored for learners, Huawei recently launched the MatePad 11.5. The tablet features an eye-friendly PaperMatte Display with anti-glare and anti-reflective layers. Its paper-like finish makes digital reading closer to traditional print, while also providing gentle friction for pen accuracy. This design enhances experiences such as handwriting, sketching, and studying dense PDFs.
Looking ahead, the program will include a major event with Dubai Municipality on 15th September, bringing students from across the UAE together for an interactive educational day. The initiative will conclude on 20th September with a special ceremony, where one student will be chosen to represent the UAE as a speaker at COP30 in Brazil. By engaging directly with students and parents, these events emphasize the practical benefits of digital tools while aligning with the UAE’s long-term vision of preparing a generation ready for a knowledge-driven economy.
