UAE Unveils AI-driven Plan to Streamline Services

Sheikh Mohammed speaking at the launch of UAE's AI government plan.

The United Arab Emirates has introduced the Federal Government Strategic Plan 2031, aiming to transform public services through the use of artificial intelligence. The initiative seeks to streamline operations and better manage national resources.

“Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of UAE, and Ruler of Dubai,” stated, “The plan will help create a smarter, faster, and more efficient government.” With this declaration, the UAE reinforces its commitment to innovation and digital governance.

Rather than focusing on complex procedures, modern success now means making processes easier and quicker. This shift in approach reflects the country’s growing emphasis on user-centered services. By leveraging AI, services can be delivered more seamlessly and with greater speed, eliminating outdated, time-consuming systems.

The technology already supports functions in the legal sector, where it helps analyze the societal impact of laws. As a result, policymakers can design legislation based on real-time insights and broader public data. This kind of informed decision-making is essential for responsive governance.

AI Integrated at Every Level of Governance

In a landmark decision, the UAE revealed that the National Artificial Intelligence System will serve as an advisory member on major federal councils and company boards. This change will take effect in January 2026. With this, AI will have a formal role in shaping national decisions, marking a significant milestone in digital governance.

Moreover, artificial intelligence is not confined to backend operations. It also plays a key role in enhancing public accessibility. Citizens can interact with services more efficiently, benefiting from systems designed to anticipate and fulfill needs with minimal friction.

Pioneering AI Education from Early Years

The UAE’s commitment to AI extends to its youngest residents. Notably, it is one of the first countries in the world to incorporate artificial intelligence into public education, beginning at the Kindergarten level. This early integration ensures that future generations grow up with a deep understanding of the technology.

By teaching children AI from a young age, the UAE empowers them to innovate responsibly and contribute to an evolving digital economy. This forward-thinking educational policy aligns with the country’s long-term vision of fostering a tech-savvy, globally competitive population.
