Reliance to Build World’s Largest AI Data Center in Gujarat, Says Report

Reliance Industries, led by Mukesh Ambani, is set to construct the world’s largest artificial intelligence (AI) data center in Jamnagar, Gujarat. The data center is expected to have a capacity of three gigawatts, far surpassing the largest existing data centers, which currently hold capacities under one gigawatt.

This ambitious project aligns Reliance with global tech giants like Amazon, Microsoft, and Alphabet, who are also heavily investing in AI-driven data centers. The new facility will be equipped with cutting-edge Nvidia AI semiconductors to meet the growing global demand for AI services.

Reliance plans to integrate renewable energy sources, including solar, green hydrogen, and wind, from its green energy complex in Jamnagar to power the center. However, experts caution that the facility will require supplementary energy sources such as large-scale batteries and fossil fuels to ensure consistent power supply.

Ambani’s venture stands out due to its unprecedented scale and innovative approach. Additionally, his pricing strategy aims to make AI services more affordable, following the success of his previous cost-cutting initiatives in the wireless sector.
