10 Reasons to Choose Microsoft Bing Over Google

Even though “Googling” has become a generic term for searching the web, there are multiple ways to search the web, and with Bing’s new ChatGPT-style AI technology, Microsoft’s search engine may once again become a contender in web search. In this article, we have explained the top 10 reasons for choosing Microsoft Bing Over Google search engine. Read to know more about the reasons to choose Microsoft Bing.

There is no doubt that Google produces excellent products. However, we believe that the results on Microsoft Bing are at least as good, if not more useful. Almost every time I can’t find something on Bing, I can’t find it on Google either.

  1. AI-Powered Chat Answers

This is yet another example of Bing outperforming Google by adding ChatGPT-like functionality to its search engine. The feature is now available to all users, but you must join a waiting list to use it. Meanwhile, you can see some canned examples of it in action. After opening the Chat selector for your search, you see the AI typing the answers as if it’s making them up as it goes. This opens a Chat sidebar and begins typing your response.

  1. Navigable News

Google News had a significant advantage for a long time when it came to the most recent trending stories, but Bing has improved in this area. The topic navigation is neat, clear, and up-to-date. A trending topics view includes a main image and blurb, as well as links to various sources.

  1. Rewards

For some, this is the primary reason for using Bing. Bing, like a good credit card, splits profits with you in the form of Microsoft Points, which you can earn by searching, taking online news quizzes, or even using the Edge browser.

  1. The Pretty Picture

Perhaps some people enjoy staring at a corporate logo all day. Not me. Every day, Bing serves up an image that is often inspiring, beautiful, and educational. If you miss one, use the arrows on the bottom right of the page to scroll through the previous week’s images; share, heart, or download your favorites.

The Bing homepage is more than just a pretty picture; it provides quick access to news, weather, and stock quotes, as well as links to online versions of Microsoft’s Office apps. If you don’t like any of the extras, including the picture, you can disable them in Settings.

  1. Event Presentation

For major events, Bing provides well-organized result pages that include all pertinent information. Elections, entertainment awards like the Oscars, and many sporting events like the Super Bowl and March Madness are all examples of this. It is worth noting that the results include a prediction of the winner.

  1. More Useful Result Pages

If you try Bing and don’t get the desired results, try the same search in Google. If I can’t find it on Bing, I can’t find it on Google, in our experience.

  1. Superior Video Search

True, the majority of the results come from YouTube, as Google also has a monopoly on online video. However, Bing’s video search result interface is far superior to Google’s 10 links with thumbnails. When you click the Videos link at the top of the main page, you’ll be taken to an exploration of trending content, as well as a personalized feed and any videos you’ve saved.

  1. Lyrics

Jeff Wilson, a colleague at PCMag, reviews music services and appreciates a good lyrics option. He could have the lyrics to every song at his fingertips if he simply changed his search engine to Bing.

  1. Get Your Math On

In Bing, one co-worker uses the search engine to convert time values because Google does not display the answer in minutes and seconds. Bing can also perform currency conversions, stock quotes, and trigonometric functions. Cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin are included in the currency converter. In addition, type in a holiday name to see the exact date as a large answer at the top.

  1. Powerful Image Search

Bing’s Images page, like its Videos page, allows you to discover trending photos and create feed topics such as Nature, Travel, Fashion, or any search term you enter. Filtering by predominant color, license, and size is similar to Google Image search, but Bing adds the ability to filter by layout (portrait or landscape) and whether the image includes a person. This last option can even be filtered to show only faces or just the head and shoulders.
