Can “robotic twins” potentially replace human labour in the future in Dubai

Recently, the Museum of the Future in Dubai held a lecture session called “Moonshot Goal 1: Introducing Cybernetic Avatars”. The session brought together experts in science and technology from both the UAE and Japan. It was organized by Dubai Future Labs, a part of the Dubai Future Foundation, and the Japan Science and Technology Agency.

The experts discussed the intersection of reality and the metaverse through robotics, and what remote work might look like in the year 2050. Four experts delivered the session from leading Japanese universities took part in the Moonshot Goal 1 program, which emphasizes the realization of a society in which humans can be free from the limitations of body, brain, space, and time by 2050.

The program aims to support innovative ideas and research projects to prepare societies for digital futures where they can develop technology to even conduct social activities virtually by 2050. During the lecture, the experts explored the possibility of robots becoming digital twins of humans and being able to carry out work and tasks more accurately and quickly, potentially replacing the need for humans to perform certain jobs.
